An initiative of the Four American Provinces of Brothers and Sisters, the SS.CC. Community-in-Mission (CIM) is a collaborative community sent to serve the poor, the powerless and the unevangelized in this new millenium.

Our Plan For A Unifying Mission

Rooted in the Mission of Christ, of the Church, and of our Congregation, we, a community-in-mission, commit ourselves to give hope to the poor of God by being agents of communion and transformation through living our SS.CC. Charism and values. In support of this mission and in the spirit of empowering the laity and the local church, we propose these goals:

Our Goals

To establish a presence with and commitment to the poor, the powerless, and the unevangelized.

To go out to the Family of God in ways related to the inclusive 'family spirit' which unites us as Sisters and Brothers. In humility and simplicity, we reach out to families and individuals in order to listen, discern and act, to assist in the reconciliation and empowerment of families in the broadest sense. From the unity of the Hearts of Jesus and Mary flows the socially and spiritually transforming power that enables us to act collaboratively with those who share our lives. Together in the Church, a 'family of families', we participate in the mission of Christ who came to reunite the dispersed people of God.

To form a ministry center after a time of collaborative ministry, team-building and networking. This center reaches out to the local area and beyond, integrating ministries of healing, shelter, nourishment, life-focused teaching and spiritual services. We wish to minister compassionately, prayerfully and inclusively in the manner of Blessed Damien, whose life inspires our missionary spirit.
